How to Fix Netbeans freeze/hang problem

Step by Step guide on How to Fix Netbeans freeze/hang problem

When it comes to developing programs in Java, Neatbeans is one of the most powerful IDE that's available at the time. Although, it can also be used for development in other languages like C/C++, PHP etc. but it's mostly used for Java programs development.

Though, it's a good IDE, but sometimes the user may get frustrated due to the hanging/freeze problem.
So, in this post we'll talk about the methods to fix these problems.

Mostly, all of us are using Netbeans IDE for  development. It has proved itself  to be a powerful IDE.
It has many inbuilt features for code optimization and helps programmer to build codes easily.

But many of us are facing the freeze/hang problem when it starts. Also, it creates problem while loading recent projects, loading virtual device etc.

1.This problem occurs due to cache memory of Netbeans which reloads the recent settings and projects.
While reloading if it is not able to find recent projects and settings then it freezes or hangs.

To solve this problem, we have to delete the cache memory from the program's location.
[program directory]....\net beans 8\NetBeans 8.0.2\nb\var\cache
clear all files in this directory and restart IDE.
This process can be repeated whenever this problem occurs and it doesn't harms any project.

2.This problem may also occur due to lower configuration system like RAM.
So that can be solved only by upgradation of your system only.

3.Problem may also occur due to poor memory management, improper installation and uninstallations, too many bugs in registry and cashe, unnecessary memory usage, etc.
This can be solved by repairing windows by installation process, defragementing hard drives, etc.

So all these will help you to make Netbeans work great and smoothly and will also increase your OS performance.

Manually created shortcut to game reduces performance

Manually created shortcut to game reduces performance

Step by Step guide to solve-

As you must be knowing that when a game installs, it automatically creates shortcuts for easy  launch of the game. But when we copy and paste a game directly(for games that run without installation), or if we have a game that comes in extract and play format, then we might think it's better to manually create the shortcut for the game. Of course, with the help of shortcuts, we don't need to go the game's directory manually every time we want to play the game.

But manually creating shortcuts have their problem too. The game may perform poorly and may hang unnecessarily even when you have a good specs.

Recently, we have tried some games like Crysis 2, Saints Row 3, NFS Underground 2 and made the desktop shortcut manually.

saints row 3

Some strange behavior were observed. Processor, RAM etc wasn't able to perform properly.
The games failed to utilize the resources properly. Game was lagging at points of high graphics. Even the delay of sound in gameplay was observed.

The reason maybe that the  manually created shortcut may not able to link up with the program files of the game. Thus, it may not able to use drivers and technologies properly.

So the next time when you are gaming, if the game lags when you have a good configuration then firstly try to run the game from the original EXE located in the installed folder.

How to boost windows performance by changing appearance

How To Boost your PC by changing appearance in Windows

While using Windows 7 and above, some machines are not able to run OS smoothly. They lags mostly in the field of appearance, graphics. Eg- Using good appearance themes, Windows Aero, etc.
The concentration of the processor gets divided in the appearances and it consumes a part of RAM also.
Even when it comes to gaming, the machine does not provide proper processor speed to the application which results in unsatisfied gaming experiences.
But when we choose an ordinary theme and does not have any good appearances then it works in a better way.
Although, we also want a fine appearance for windows,

So here is some of the ways to boost up your PC performance-

1. From the appearances and personalization menu in control panel choose the Windows Basic theme.
It will give an above average looks to the OS.
Using Windows Classic theme will give better performance. You can go for it if looks doesn't matters        much for you.

2. Turn off the Windows sounds.

3. Set a low quality desktop background.
Or you can remove it. It will give better performance.

4. Use the recommended screen resolution only. Using this will do good bonding of hardware(monitor) and the software(OS).
    For eg-

5. From the system properties, choose Advance System Settings option.

Go to Advanced tab - Settings in performance menu.

In the Visual Effects of Performance options, choose the following options for enhanced performance as well as for looks.

You can uncheck the following checked options. By doing that you will have better performance but not the appropriate looks.
Checking these options will give the fullest of looks with the great performance.
If you will be using Windows Classic theme, then go for 'Adjust for best performance option'.

All these changes will give a decent looks to the Windows with the improved performance so that you can enjoy Windows 7 on lower configured machines.

Alienware 13 review the cheapest and thinnest

From 1996 to 2015, Alienware has never disappointed customers when it comes to gaming. The brand has been considered the best in class for gaming in laptops or desktops. The machines are always top configured and costly. But the gaming experience they provide are flawless.

Alienware are different from others because of their proportions of components like hardwares and
softwares. Their CPU and graphics processing technology are unique, as the machine boosts its performance by perfect and safe overclocking methods. Its aggressive and sharp looks gives a pleasant gaming environment.

ALIENWARE 13

Alienware has launched its cheapest, thinnest and small sized laptop in oct 2014 named
Alienware 13, crafted with premium features like copper cooling, optional Quad HD display and high-performance CPU and graphics, the Alienware 13 is designed to give you an awesome gaming experience anywhere, every time.

Machine has an excellent feature of attachable performance devices like-
Alienware Graphics Amplifier, powered by an upgradable desktop GPU, you can transform the Alienware 13 into the ultimate at-home experience. Just plug in and get lost in the vivid display and massive performance boost of desktop-class graphics.

Talking about the design, every of its product have aggressive, sharp looks which we used to see in some army mission games.
None of its products have square or rectangular shaped laptops that makes it looks unique for gaming.
The Alienware logo lightened  by blue LED's is the pride of machine. The body is made up of plastic and carbon fibre providing a good strength and smooth finish.

SPECIFICATIONS

Processor

  • Intel® Core™ i5-4210U Processor (3M Cache, up to 2.70 GHz)

About Intel i5-4210U

The machine's software structure is such that the CPU's average clock speed is always  nearly to 2.4GHZ . So you can get all time high processing in i5 processor only.
While not as powerful as a Core i7 processor, the Alienware 13's 2.4-GHz Intel Core i5-4210U CPU with 16GB can still get the job done.

The processor integrates powerful Graphics called Intel HD Graphics 4400 with 20 Execution Units, initially clocked at 200MHz and that go up to 1000MHz, in Turbo Mode which share the L2 Cache and system RAM with the processor. So when the laptop is off from charging the machine graphics relies on 4400.

  • Windows 8.1 Pro (64Bit) English

Video Card

  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 860M 2GB GDDR5

This is the main component of any gaming machine, the GPU. This machine gives  a good gaming experiences but the GPU is not that much powerful as it should be for a gaming machine. Well, we shouldn't ignore the fact that its the cheapest of Alienware. But still, the card is able to process graphics very well due to the Alienware technology.
Although the GTX 860M has much less memory bandwidth and computing power, Many games of 2013/2014 (Tomb Raider or BioShock Infinite, etc.) can be played fluently in FullHD resolution and very high detail settings. However, very demanding games such as Crysis 3 or Battlefield 4 will require lower resolutions and/or details.

So, try to opt Maxwell version of this card because the Kepler version is 10x slower than this card.

Alienware's Command Centre

Alienware's Command Center, the company's proprietary control panel, helps personalize the gaming experience. The AlienFX option is the star of the show, tricking the Alienware 13 out with custom lighting profiles.
The Fusion feature lets you create custom power profiles for the laptop while Adrenaline assists in creating a set of conditions to run for each game. This is also where you can monitor your laptop's performance or access settings for the optional Graphics Amplifier.

AlienAutopsy (diagnostics and maintenance) and AlienRefresh (system restore) have been removed from the Command Center and now live with the other apps in Windows 8.1.
