Manually created shortcut to game reduces performance

Manually created shortcut to game reduces performance

Step by Step guide to solve-

As you must be knowing that when a game installs, it automatically creates shortcuts for easy  launch of the game. But when we copy and paste a game directly(for games that run without installation), or if we have a game that comes in extract and play format, then we might think it's better to manually create the shortcut for the game. Of course, with the help of shortcuts, we don't need to go the game's directory manually every time we want to play the game.

But manually creating shortcuts have their problem too. The game may perform poorly and may hang unnecessarily even when you have a good specs.

Recently, we have tried some games like Crysis 2, Saints Row 3, NFS Underground 2 and made the desktop shortcut manually.

Some strange behavior were observed. Processor, RAM etc wasn't able to perform properly.
The games failed to utilize the resources properly. Game was lagging at points of high graphics. Even the delay of sound in gameplay was observed.

The reason maybe that the  manually created shortcut may not able to link up with the program files of the game. Thus, it may not able to use drivers and technologies properly.

So the next time when you are gaming, if the game lags when you have a good configuration then firstly try to run the game from the original EXE located in the installed folder.
